ACRES is rebuilding a Black-led platform for fair-housing education, rights navigation, homeownership pathways, community research and professional collaboration. The proposed Work Club is one commercial piece of a much broader mission.
OUR ORIGIN & MISSION
A practical platform for learning and collaboration
ACRES is more than a place to work. Its broader roadmap is to help Black Canadians understand housing rights and navigate renting, buying, selling, retaining and jointly owning homes. It includes financial literacy, anti-discrimination education, support for older adults and families, community research, non-partisan policy dialogue and collaboration among Black professionals.
These are planned workstreams, not a claim that every service is operating today. A proposed independent nonprofit would deliver eligible public-benefit education, navigation and advocacy. Commercial coworking and any co-ownership or investment venture would remain separate, subject to legal and professional review. ACRES does not provide individual legal, mortgage, insurance or investment advice through this site.
Fair Housing
Learning Centre
The developing Learning Centre will connect plain-language housing rights education, financial literacy, homeownership preparation, rental fairness, appraisal questions and source-based research. Planned materials will address tenants, buyers, sellers, families, older adults and people facing discrimination or housing loss. ACRES also intends to support non-partisan public-policy dialogue on fair access to housing. Content will be source-linked and updated as the project grows. This website does not provide individual legal, tax, mortgage, insurance, appraisal or investment advice.

PROPOSED CONCEPT
The Future Professional
Workspace
A proposed GTA work club combining a welcoming public work lounge with bookable meeting rooms, a boardroom and private offices for independent professionals. The concept may include automated coffee and packaged snacks, paid day access, secure Wi-Fi, credit-card reservations and timed smart access. SirLuckHomes Real Estate Brokerage is expected to be an anchor user with first access to brokerage workspace; other independent professionals may be invited to lease or license offices.
STATUS
The ACRES Work Club is a proposed commercial concept. It is not open, has no confirmed public location and is not accepting bookings. The current residential home-office address is not a coworking site or public ACRES office.
Governance &
Legal Status
EXISTING CORPORATION
Afro Canadian Real Estate Inc. is an existing federal for-profit corporation. It is the proposed commercial operator for the ACRES Work Club concept.
The commercial Work Club and the proposed nonprofit are separate concepts. The proposed nonprofit would not be used to subsidize a private brokerage or property purchase. Any future relationship between the entities would be documented at fair value and professionally reviewed.

ACRES Housing Equity & Education Canada is proposed only. It has not been incorporated, is not a registered charity, cannot accept charitable donations and cannot issue charitable tax receipts. It would require an independent board, incorporation, conflict controls and separate finances before operating.
The Work Club remains a proposed commercial initiative. It is not a charitable program, and ACRES is not offering donations or charitable tax receipts.
